Lovely rural farmhouse

A lovely rural old fashioned farm house that was perfect for family get-togethers. The host was very communicative, attentive and went out of her way to insure that we had settled in well for our stay. Would definitely stay again.

Super helpful

Tina was super helpful with anything we needed during our stay. Was very grateful to her for making it very easy. The place itself was clean, tidy and looks exactly like the pictures. Thanks so much Tina, we will be back.

Great getaway

Had a really lovely time. Pretty much decided that we wanted to have a couple of days “busy doing nothing” and this was an ideal place just to sit back and relax. Great getaway location from London (and especially the kids). On the arrangement/logistical side everything was seamless and couldn’t fault. Thanks Tina

Airbnb Review, Thyme Shepherd Hut

Peaceful

Lovely peaceful and beautiful location. Fairly central to tour a lovely county, not far from the coast where we found some great walking. Accommodation cosy with underfloor heating and well equipped with all you need for a relaxing and enjoyable break.

Absolutely gorgeous!

Absolutely gorgeous! Clean, cosy with lovely welcoming gifts. Very well equipped with the softest of towels! Perfect for our family of five. The place is in a brilliant location, ideal for exploring the beautiful towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold, as well as Framlingham and the stunning surrounding countryside. We loved our time here and will definitely be returning, hopefully for longer next time!

Absolutely loved the little hut

Tina thank you so much for a lovely stay and being a great host. I absolutely loved the little hut, perfect for some time alone. I felt very snug and safe in the Shepard’s hut with wind and heavy rain and the wood burner crackling away. The craftsmanship of the hut was so impressive too. Thanks again.

Airbnb review, Thyme Shepherd Hut

Second time back

Second time back in the Hayloft and loved it every bit as much as the first visit! Clean, extremely homely and just a wonderful place to stay. We really love it here, thank you very much Chris and Tina – we’re sure we’ll see you again!

Excellent place to stay, peace and quiet guaranteed. Comfortable well maintained converted stable set in a lovely countryside location. Highly recommended and we will be going back again.

Perfect

Exactly what I needed. Small but perfectly formed, private and pretty. There are nice easy walks accessible from the garden and it’s lovely to sit and watch the ducks and moorhens on the pond. Highly recommended.

TripAdvisor review, Willow Cottage

Great getaway

What a great place to getaway from it all. We had a peaceful and enjoyable weekend here. Great walks straight from the door into lovely countryside. The hut had all we needed, including cooking facilities, en-suite, outside seating with bbq and a cosy warm log fire which we used both nights. No TV or internet which is a definite plus sometimes. Would recommend this place.

Gem of a find

Tina’s cottage is a gem of a find. It is the perfect place and location to relax. Close enough to the town and amenities, but rural enough to be quiet and peaceful. Beautiful place to stay, and very accommodating and perfectly pleasant hosts. Thanks!!

Great little cottage

This is a great little cottage and base for exploring Suffolk. The accommodation was very clean, well maintained and equipped with everything I needed – very warm even in below zero temperatures & lovely touches in the welcome pack. Tina is a great host taking the time to ensure I’d settled in well, offering local advice/tips on the area with nothing too much trouble – “you’ve got my number, feel free to ring me if you need anything”. Overall a great stay.

Gorgeous and very ‘us’

Amazing cottage … Tranquil, clean and cosy. Fabulous views too with lots of wildlife. Wonderful area to explore with many places to visit.

Homeaway review, Willow Cottage

Quiet and peaceful

This is such a lovely little space to stay in. It’s small but cosy and has absolutely everything you need. The wood stove was the best bit for us because we stayed for New Years and it meant we could heat the place up pretty quickly and make it very snug. Tina provided everything we needed and the place was spotless. The field around the hut is so quiet and peaceful and all we ever heard were owls. There is another shepherds hut in the field but we never heard them and the huts face away from each other so it’s very private and peaceful. Really enjoyed staying here and would do so again. lovely people to deal with.

A lovely cottage

A lovely cottage, perfect for our family holiday. Enough space for time apart and time together. Holiday highlights included last night meal at The Station Hotel in Framlingham, walking up to the fort at the end of the bay in Aldeburgh on an unseasonally warm day, the walk from Dunwich Heath round past Minsmere for a pint at the Eels Foot. All in all a great variety topped off with some competitive table football! Thank you!

Visitor book comment, Farmhouse

Horses and tawny owls on the doorstep

The other reviews are spot on. We had a lovely time at the Shepherd’s Hut! Horses and tawny owls are on the doorstep, it’s just a short drive into Framlingham for some pub grub. The log burner kept us toasty all evening and there was just enough wood to get the burner going again in the morning. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a simple meal – we enjoyed a home cooked brekkie on the table and chairs outside the hut. We’ll be sure to visit again.

Airbnb review, Thyme Shepherd Hut

Warmth and comfort

We have had a lovely few days in Suffolk visiting my old childhood haunts. The October sunshine has been beautiful and we feel very lucky. Had a good walk in Dunwich forest yesterday after lunch at The Ship and today enjoyed the ferry across the river from Southwold to Walberswick and back. The boys loved the beach at Walberswick. The Hayloft has been a perfect base for us and we have enjoyed returning to its warmth and comfort each evening. Thank you !

Lovely house

We had a great time in this lovely house. The two families were really happy with this place. Me and Matilda had a campfire night with a raffle, competition and marshmallows. We loved how comfortable it was and how it brought the families together even more. Thank you so much for the fantastic offer of this house. We will definitely come again because we can’t think of a house better than this. This deserves a 5 star review!

Perfect

The Hayloft has been perfect for our stay of birthday celebrations on 27th and wedding at Brick Kiln Barn on 30th. Wall to wall sunshine for sightseeing, partying and catching up with our friends. The lounge is gorgeous, just perfect. Thank you.

Great trip

Recently visited as a weekend retreat with 6 other boys… this place surpassed our expectations. Very very clean and tidy, well maintained, everything you could require was included on site, generous size BBQ grill for use as well as enough charcoal also provided. A pleasure to deal with the owner Tina, she was very helpful throughout the booking process as well as when we mentioned we may b late on arrival due to severe traffic and may miss our Tesco delivery she told us not to worry and take our time and made sure her husband was present to receive the delivery for us, he waited for over an hour which was highly appreciated… Overall this place is an ideal get away from daily hectic life a perfect home away from home, for family holidays or just a weekend away with friends.

A wonderful place to stay

A wonderful place to stay. Great location for exploring the local history and heritage, as well as easy access to the coast and the nature reserves. The beautiful loft living room is perfect for relaxing in, watching the sunset over the fields.

Great group/family accommodation

Lovely quiet setting. Well equipped and maintained accommodation. Welcome eggs and bottle of wine much appreciated! Family friendly although worth taking a blackout blind if your kids wake at dawn as the curtains let a lot of light in. Worked very well for large group of us spread between the farmhouse and hayloft. Thank you- we hope to return again!

A lovely break!

We were blessed with a heatwave and some torrential showers but saved from the Beast from the East. Snape Maltings provided a different, refreshing shopping experience while the men preferred the local Cretingham Golf Club. Lovely walks around Framlingham, Aldeburgh and Orford while the White Horse at Easton provided an excellent pub lunch with entertainment for the children in the garden. A lovely break!

One of the most restful holidays we have had

It has been one of the most restful holidays we have had. A long over due to need to relax. We’ve enjoyed every day and the beautiful places to visit in the Suffolk countryside. We join with others who visited to say thank you for the little extras and a great place for a wheelchair user.

Second stay in 7 months

Our second stay in 7 months. This is becoming a bit of a bolt hole for us. Unseasonally cold and wet weather has kept us “home” quite a bit but this has given us a welcome rest so not all bad. One highlight was the bakery stall at the Saturday Fram market. Fab savoury and sweet foods to scoff here in the coziness of Cart Lodge. Harbour at Southwold gave us a lovely walk/lunch. Cinema and meal at Riverside in Woodbridge was fully accessible and fab.

Idyllic stay – 100% recommended!

These huts are absolutely beautiful, they give you everything you need, microwave, small bathroom, pull out sofa bed. It’s very spacious! The BBQ outside was perfect for the hot bank holiday as well, and all the charcoal you needed was provided. They are situated in a lovely remote patch of grass giving you lots of privacy! The location is a half an hours drive away from a lot of beaches, which is really handy. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be returning!

We would recommend this gem of a property to all ages.

Warm cosy house

Although weather could have been better we have enjoyed the warm cosy house and Suffolk sites. The children really enjoyed Stonham Owl Sanctuary and found Dunwich Museum very interesting. Southwold was a great place to visit for the Pier and fish and chips on the beach. Lovely to relax in the beautiful living room in the evenings. Thank you.

Easter Weekend with Family

We found this gem on-line after our family from aged 20 to 83 years wanted to explore Suffolk during the 4 day Easter break. The booking process was easy with arrival arrangements very informing. The farmhouse is even better than the pictures. It is beautifully furnished, very clean & comfortable with plenty of space for different family members to spread out. Whilst cooking in the well equipped kitchen, others were watching sport on the TV in one reception area, others watched a film in the lounge, board games (many supplied) were being played at the large dining table in front of the wood burning stove (fuel supplied)& the smaller lounge was perfect for reading. The garden provided lots of opportunities to watch the birds & rabbits. An added bonus for the rainy evenings was the table football and pool table in the old barn. The large front garden which sets the farmhouse back from the road was perfect for our Easter egg hunt. For people not wishing to cook there are plenty of eateries and takeaways within a 5 minute drive. Location is great for exploring the Suffolk coast (Southwold and Aldeburgh our favourites). In addition to the Farmhouse there are 2 shepherds huts on-site which look fantastic & 2 other types of accommodation which makes Boundary farm a great venue for larger group gatherings with plenty of parking. Wish our stay had been longer & we would love to book again (when not raining)!!

Bucolic escape

A lovely bucolic escape in a gorgeous shepherds hut. Tina was extremely helpful and gave us tips on local restaurants and walks.

Escapism as its finest!

Thoughtfully converted stable with excellent attention to detail. From the bi fold doors opening on to your own deck, to the exceedingly well equipped kitchen and super comfy bed – we couldn’t fault a thing. Having driven through the snow to get there, we were greeted on arrival by Tina and Chris who had provided us lovely fresh eggs, milk, cookies and wine and gave us a full run down of the accommodation before leaving us to enjoy our beautiful surroundings. We had a 3 night stay and managed to fit in a trip to the Framlingham market (excellent to stock up on all the food for our stay), went a little further afield to Southwold Pier (a really lovely seaside town with arcades, great fish and chips and a lovely town centre) and spent a relaxing few hours in the local pub. I’d imagine you could definitely fit more in and there is plenty to do locally (lots of very helpful guides in the cottage – again with the excellent attention to detail from Tina and Chris), however we really loved the space in the cottage and spent some really great quality time together (no toddler for the weekend!!) lounging, playing games, eating lovely food and all in such gorgeous surroundings. If anything, the snow was a bonus! Apparently we’re fairly adept at making snowmen…. Would absolutely recommend this place and would not hesitate to return!

A lovely cosy billet

A lovely cosy billet – thank you! Quiet and secluded. Lovely spot to celebrate our wedding anniversary. A great location to explore Suffolk countryside and the coast. Good beer at the Station in Framlingham. The Common Room on Bridge Street excellent for a lunch. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Fantastic half term week

What a fantastic half term week we have had in the Hayloft. Wonderful clean, warm and very comfortable accommodation. A couple of small technical issues early on were rectified straight away without any fuss by Chris, who is a very personable and welcoming host, who along with Tina couldn’t have been more friendly, communicative and helpful. We loved this part of Suffolk – so much to do for families both inland and on the coast. We would definitely recommend Boundary Farm and we will definitely return to the Hayloft. We have all loved this holiday – thank you!

Lovely big skies and fields

We had a great stay in the cottage for our New Year break. Lovely big skies and fields, yet only a five min drive (or run through the fields) to Framlingham. It’s a quaint little town with a beautiful castle, nice pub and cafes and market. Tina welcomed us very warmly and was very accommodating. We’d definitely stay again if we head out that way.

Perfect

This was the first time my wife and I have stayed in a Shepherd Hut and it was perfect. Tina quickly responded to all messages around booking and check in. When we arrived at the hut it was in the middle of a field just as we had hoped and the inside exceeded all our expectations. A hut at the end of December may have seemed like an odd choice but the wood burner and amazing duvet meant we stayed nice and warm. Tina even left us eggs, milk, tea bags, sugar, olive oil and balsamic vinegar so we were well looked after. If you are looking for a break away from the rat race look no further!!

Comfy and cosy

We immediately felt at home in the lovely and well equipped cottage. Comfy and cosy, warm and welcoming. The prosecco and home made mince pies were very welcome! The Christmas tree a lovely touch. We’ve enjoyed watching moorhens, bunnies, squirrels, crows, jays, thrush and many more little feathered visitors. Peaceful and relaxing – the perfect Christmas hideaway. Thank you, we hope to visit again soon.

Just what we needed!

Thank you for a lovely, comfortable, peaceful place to unwind. Just what we needed! The White Horse is as good as we hoped – a beautiful old pub, friendly and good food – not too expensive. The surroundings here are ideal – managed to catch squirrels playing and lots of moorhens – sadly no owls. Thank you for the very thoughtful ‘welcome gifts’ greatly appreciated. The home made mince pies are delicious. Will definitely recommend to those we know. Thank you again. Merry Christmas.

The cutest shepherds hut there ever was

I stayed here with a friend and had the loveliest time. We loved the log burner and fire-pit–wood for both was left for us in the hut. Not to mention, the fact that the bathroom is inside the hut! The cupboards were stocked with everything you need to cook a meal inside on the stove or on the fire. And although breakfast wasn’t included they left us fresh eggs, milk, and coffee. I highly recommend!

A truly magical weekend

Booked very last minute in the need for a digital detox and unwind. Initially I was a little dubious taking our 8 month old to a glamping experience (esp. as the hut has no reviews yet etc) but as soon as I started communicating with Tina my mind was put to rest. It was a truly magical weekend. The sun helped (as always) but the hut itself is of an incredible standard, so comfortable, amazing views, peaceful energy and all the mod cons you could ever need. Being with baby meant we needed a certain level of comfort and wow, we certainly got that. We enjoyed a visit to Framingham castle and the coast isn’t too far but actually we just wanted to sit by the hut, take in the countryside air and beautiful views and enjoy some peace and quiet. Tina has really created something special here and couldn’t be more helpful in answering all my questions (and posting back my forgotten baby towel)! This will be an annual holiday for me and my family and we feel very grateful to have been the ones to christen this hut. Thank you Tina

Enjoyed having breakfast on the decking

Tina and Chris, thank you for a lovely stay in your cottage, it has been lovely, everything thought of that you could need and thank you for all the flowers and other goodies. Enjoyed having breakfast on the decking watching the moor hens and drinks in the evening. Wish you all the best for the future with this wonderful cottage. Hope to return soon.

Beautiful setting

We spent a week here on the 23rd April 2017. This new to the market property is a little gem! Although compact it has every thing required to make your stay comfortable. Tina and Chris were there to welcome us and show us around and asked to let them know if we required anything else ,a very nice couple who have put a lot of time into this conversion . The outlook over the pond surrounded by Willow and Ash trees is lovely and although the weather could have been kinder we had two beautiful sunsets to watch from the decking (or the settee inside) If it is peace and quiet you are after you cannot go wrong .I am sure the ducks moorhen and rabbits will keep you entertained as they did us . We highly reccommend this cottage and hope to return.
