Our shepherd huts offer a glamping experience at its best, providing the chance to escape to the country and be at one with nature and the outdoors. Set in a beautiful rural location overlooking meadows, you can unwind in the peaceful Suffolk countryside, enjoy the sounds of the natural world, see the stars and detox from the digital world.
Our two 16′ fully insulated Shepherd’s Huts crafted by local artisans are luxurious re-incarnations of the traditional mobile homes that shepherds of the dim and distant past lived in whilst guarding their flocks yet still retaining their traditional style and charm but with modern comforts. They are an opportunity to ‘get away from it all’ whilst still enjoying some of the finer things in life – like a log fire, a luxurious double bed and a hot shower.
Our two shepherd huts Thyme and Sage each accommodate two people and are connected to mains electricity and water.
Our shepherds huts are set in secluded grounds at Boundary Farm, on the edge of Saxtead village which has its own pub, The Old Mill House and English Heritage’s Saxtead Green Post Mill, which dates from the late 1500s, is still functioning and well worth a visit. Both are a short stroll from the farm.
The historic market town of Framlingham, complete with castle and mere, is five minutes by car or about half an hour via the footpaths. Less than half an hour’s drive away are the beautiful Heritage Coast towns of Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich, Thorpeness and Aldeburgh to name just a few of the better known places.
To truly explore the Suffolk countryside in style, you could hire one of our classic open-top sports cars…
There is access and parking via a private driveway that leads down to the side of the Farmhouse.
Regrettably due to livestock nearby, pets are not permitted apart from assistance dogs.
