Suffolk is renowned for its high quality locally produced food ranging from locally reared meat, fish straight from the sea and cheeses to local craft ales, ciders and wine, fresh fruit and vegetables, and preserves. So if you enjoy the odd spot of cooking on your holiday, sourcing the right ingredients from one of the many farmers markets, farm shops, fish sheds or delis and tasting the results of your labours will be a pleasure!

Leo’s deli in Framlingham is a firm favourite with a great range of cheeses, cold meats, olives and home cooked delicacies. Emmetts of Peasenhall is famous for its Suffolk hams and bacon made in a traditional manner. Shawsgate Vineyard, one mile outside Framlingham is a small and successful local wine producer offering tastings and tours. The annual September Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival takes place in the beautiful setting of Snape Maltings. With over 90 food and drink producers from Suffolk, many from just a few miles away, all gather to sell their produce including raw milk, organic vegetables, sour-dough bread, award winning beer and spirits from Adnams, cyder from Aspall and delicious street food.
