There are four independent cinemas within half an hour drive at Leiston, Aldeburgh, Southwold and Woodbridge.
Snape Maltings is home to Aldeburgh Music and one of the world’s leading centres of music, where you’ll find inspiring concerts and festivals throughout the year, from the flagship Aldeburgh Festival to the folk, world and jazz of the Snape Proms. You’ll often find dance, literature and other arts events at Snape Maltings. The Cut Arts Centre in Halesworth (15 minutes drive) offers an extensive range of arts, music, theatre, dance, comedy and cinema. The Summer Theatre has a long tradition of high quality repertory theatre in Southwold and Aldeburgh, entertaining holidaymakers in both towns with a broad mixture of comedies, thrillers and family drama. In Ipswich, there’s the Regent theatre offering mainstream comedy, dance, music and variety and the New Wolsey Theatre which combines its own productions and touring work to create a dynamic programme of theatre. Ipswich based Eastern Angles is the regional touring company for the East of England.
